ASWLL now has a new process in place for reserving fields for practice time.
1) Email Brett Smith at president@aswll.com. Try to allow as much time until you will actually need the field as possible. Sometimes the city does not work at break neck speed--so we ask that you plan ahead as much as possible. We will allow you to rent the same field at the same time for multiple weeks in a row, for instance. All Arlington fields are available for rent--not just MLK. 2) Brett will email you back in return the confirmation for the field you have requested. This process usually takes 24 hours so, once again, prior planning is the key to success. We have many teams wanting to practice, and few fields and times available. 3) The cost to rent fields for the 60' fields (red 1 and red 2 and the blues) is $25 per hour, $70 per hour if you want to use the lights. For the 80' and 90' fields (green 1 and 2) the cost is $30 an hour and with lights on the rate is $110 an hour. You are allowed to rent the fields in half hour increments. This rate is available through ASWLL only--you will not get the same rate if you try to contact the city directly (and, the chances are good they will not rent to you anyway as we have most of the time slots blocked for ASWLL play). So that we may better assist you, please be prepared with the following information: division your team is playing in, size of field requested (small or large diamond), date you are wanting to reserve, and time and length of reservation--so that we can go to work on it immediately.
4) Brett will contact the team the following day to insure that all went well for their practice and that there were no issues.
5) All field rentals will be handled on a prepaid basis only. Each renter will present a check made payable to ASWLL (or cash) for $100 to cover the field rental(s). The renter will have a credit balance with the league until such time as those funds are exhausted. Once the $100 is spent, another $100 will need to put in the renter's "account" with the league in order to procure future field reservations. At the end of the season all monies remaining in the renter's account, if any, will be refunded by check by mail.
